These humble and effective followers of Christ are drenched in ministry, one aspect being at-risk kids.
Our week of camp with Breakaway is often a highlight week for us!
Here's a little about Breakaway Outreach in their words:
There are over 1.5 million children of prisoners in the U.S. today. According to national statistics, 59 percent of these children are under the age of ten. In addition, children of prisoners are six times more likely to commit crimes than other children a U.S. Senate report indicates.
Our "Breakaway Camp" is for at-risk youth between the ages of 8 to 12. For most prisoners' children, summer camp is only a dream. With mom or dad in prison, these kids are at a higher risk for drug abuse, violence, delinquency, and experiencing prison time as well. But it doesn't have to end up that way - you can help by sponsoring once child for a partial or full week of camp for $220. Together, we can make a difference! Sponsor a "Breakaway" child now!
They are only able to bring as many kids as they have scholarships for. We are asking you to consider this opportunity to help send one of these Breakaway Kids to camp at Whisper Mountain this June! It's an eternal investment to be sure!
