CWE 2.0 Week 02

Week 02 Crew was in charge of getting the siding on and the outer doors installed. They were a smaller crew but you’d never know it by the work they got done.

Job sites always make me feel nostalgic. Growing up around construction, I always wandered the sites taking in the smells of the fresh cut lumber, finding treasures in the mess on the ground, and being curious how the workers could make something come together with such apparent ease. The tools and piles of the job site are like hope sitting around.

Put volunteer power behind that hope and things happen! The walls of a cabin go up quickly, but it’s the faithful work in the details that pull it all together! This week’s tedious and often times monotonous labor went a long ways to making this cabin begin to pull together even more.

Every morning the crew would get things together and then circle up to pray. They prayed over their work, safety in it, but they also prayed for campers that would one day be staying in this cabin they were building. I find this so beautiful because they are keeping the mission of their week in front of them and asking God to use their efforts for His glory. Humble, servant-hearted — the aroma of Christ!

We are grateful once again for this crew who pulled away from their lives so they could come and serve us here at camp.

You are the aroma of Christ, Week 02 Crew, making a difference for him! Thank you for partnering with us in sharing the Gospel with teens who need Jesus!

Cassi Werner

Inspiring a lifestyle of hope, Cassi finds beauty in unlikely places. But also out in the garden, in the home and in her people. She is grateful to work in the Development & Communications department of Whisper Mountain Camp.
