CWE 2.0 Week 01

The week started with stormy weather. I think I heard someone say they experienced three seasons in the week they were with us! Week One CWE Volunteers were amazing! They created such a great atmosphere of camaraderie and joy in their serving — beautiful to behold.

The first week of work is always fun to see as they go from concrete slab to dried-in within three full working days. The progress is completely satisfying to watch happen.

We had individuals, families. and best friends come from Pennsylvania, New York, Tennessee, Virginia and Florida with us. Wonderful people with very full lives, health struggles, families back home that they were willing to leave to come and serve us. Their sacrifices are something we can never fully express our gratitude for.

The crew seemed to have a great time while working — enjoying each other, the music filling the air,, and the beautiful mountains around them. And nothing better than a little healthy competition — one guy picked up a few boards, the friend after him had to outdo him so he got one more than him; another guy sees what’s going on and adds more than both of them! Whatever gets the job done, amiright?!
