June Volunteers 2025

We’ve been known to call our volunteers our superheroes because we simply could not do all the work without them! Here’s who has been serving with us through June (out of their love for the Lord and their love for teens!🙌🏻)

Alex Davis (a past camper and summer staff!)came at the end of our staff training and stayed for the first week of camp! She trained our staff in CPR & First Aid, helped our staff know what to do that first week as they were getting acclimated, tossed Deklen around at the lake, and just served as an overall encouragement to everyone she was around!

Cherie Werner (Shaun’s sister) helped us in the kitchen preparing and serving the meals and being an encouragement to her brother and playing with her nephew! She is such a prayer warrior I wouldn’t be surprised if she spent an overwhelming amount of time praying as well! (I’m the worst sister-in-law ever — not one picture was taken 😱…how could I miss that?)

Brad & Mello Nash AND George & Jodi Zartman helped us beautify some landscaping and carry the load in the kitchen with dishwashing and prep/serving! Let these images be proof that George and Brad do actually help out when they show up and don’t just hit golf balls around as has been said of them in past summers 🤭! They of course are also such an encouragement to everyone when they are with us, but especially to Marty and Patti! Friends for decades are something special!

Marcus Kester and his fiancé Riley were so great to have with us! Marcus was a past summer staff who jumped back into playing keyboard for worship, helping with high ropes and any other program elements that could use an extra hand. Riley was getting to experience Whisper Mountain for the first time and she connected so well with our staff, braiding their hair and being a friend, as well as just pitching in with basic chores our staff see to each day! I think they both enjoyed the week away from their own noise - we loved having them!

Sydnie Bonham spent two weeks with us. She’s a college-aged teen who helped us prepare and serve meals in the kitchen. She connected well with our summer staff and jumped right into the camp world! Her joy and desire to serve with tenacity was something we are thankful for as she brought good energy with her! We are grateful to have had her with us!

We have two couples who have been serving with us all June as well, but they are here through the middle of July so we will feature them in the next volunteer blog post we make at the end of summer!

PRAISE GOD for His provisions to our team through these volunteers! Thank you so much for coming guys! Your footprints are all over this place - you helped make a difference this summer! THANK YOU!
