Spring Volunteer Highlights

Our spring volunteers came in and got some things done!

MEN’S TEAMS

We had our Fab 3 crew from Florida come back again for another project! Along with them were two other guys, Dennis Stone (from Kansas) and Terry Anderson (from Iowa) who helped the Fab 3 a little bit and then helped with other projects around camp!

They built us a new deck outside our office since the other one (18 years old!) was rotting and dangerous! Here’s a short little video you can watch to see their time with us!

Along with helping at times on the deck project, Dennis and Terry also helped Marty re-side an old shed to give it more life and helped build stairs onto our zip line platform to make it easier for guests to get locked and loaded!

We are so grateful for these guys — their time, energy, and talent spent at camp! Their fingerprints are all over the camp as they keep coming back year after year!

LUMBERJACK DAY RECAP

Lumberjack Day was also a huge success! The day was beautiful, the workers eager — much was accomplished.

The women who came were the mighty cleaning brigade! They helped us get all the cabins on campus cleaned and ready for CWE volunteers coming in!

Then we had some teens and the men cutting down and cleaning up trees and brush around the areas where campers will be this summer. This helps the place look good and keeps everyone less at risk of encounter those snakes that pop up every now and then!

This group was from Marble Springs Baptist Church, up the road and around the bend from us here in Robbinsville! They came, they worked, they ate and then went and spent the rest of their Saturday as they pleased! We are grateful for the time sacrificed to come and help us out!

People amaze and challenge me! The way they are willing to serve and sacrifice their time for something outside themselves —it’s not what comes natural to us. Unless we are full of Jesus!

Thank you for coming and serving, Followers of Jesus! You add to the aroma of Christ around here.

Big thanks to Marty, Ramsey, and Patti for helping get some of these images to show you all our volunteers!

Cassi Werner

Inspiring a lifestyle of hope, Cassi finds beauty in unlikely places. But also out in the garden, in the home and in her people. She is grateful to work in the Development & Communications department of Whisper Mountain Camp.
