20th Staff Reunion
When we began Whisper Mountain Camp 20 years ago (🤯!!!) we imagined our greatest work would be to the campers God would bring through our gates. Turns out, the summer staff have the greatest impact on campers, and we have the greatest impact on our summer staff. The way we pour into staff throughout the summers and continue to connect and walk with them even as they exit our ministry, is a real life place to practice discipleship — walking with people through life and learning to follow God in that.
We recently were given the gift of gathering with small pockets of our staff from the past 20 years! We had some OGs there, some middle of the years, and some recent staffers come together for an evening of fellowship, worship, and remembering! Getting to hear from them what God was doing in their lives now and how they saw God use WM to help get them there was such an encouragement and just made us all feel in awe of the way God orchestrates our lives for His glory. Truly one of life’s most beautiful things!
We loved having our Board of Directors present and we are so thankful for their help with all the weekend set up and running of events!
If all our past staff would have been able to come, we’d have had over 100 staff 🤯! Life often keeps us from what we want; so many weren’t able to come share in the celebration. While we definitely missed them, WE ABSOLUTELY LOVED every minute with those who were able to make it happen! (THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME, EFFORT, and EXPENSE IN COMING STAFF! It meant so much to us! )
The Friday evening gathering of staff!
We had a whole big celebration for anyone who wanted to come the next day (there’s a whole other post on that!). Some of our staff were only able to make it that day so we took another picture to document them!
At the end of the day, hearing the testimony of God’s work in their lives through their brief time at Whisper Mountain and beyond only makes us worship Him for His faithfulness and grace and goodness. The hearing keeps us going in following Him through the work He’s called us to in this camp ministry. In all this and more, all glory to God!
