July Volunteers 2025
We’ve been known to call our volunteers our superheroes because we simply could not do all the work without them! Here’s who has been serving with us through July (out of their love for the Lord and their love for teens!🙌🏻) DID YOU SEE THE JUNE VOLUNTEERS?
Kate Gaunt & Jennifer Walker are moms who wanted to bring their kids and their kids’ friends to camp. They drive all the way from Fort Myers, Florida to give their teens the WM Camp Experience, and while they are here they help us serve in the kitchen! They are such interesting people with much to offer so they add a great dynamic while with us! We are grateful for their hearts and most grateful for their willingness to spend the week serving with us! 🙌🏻
Brad & Leila Sill AND Kevin & Angela Gillett are two couples who dedicated their whole summer to serving in the kitchen with us! Kevin & Brad were able to work remotely and were able to help out with dishes and serving meals and being an encouraging presence with our guests and staff. Their wives were a massive help in the preparation of all the meals each day of each week of almost the entire summer! How humbling to consider people rearranging their whole lives, sacrificing in ways we probably are unaware of in order to take part in what God is doing here at WM! Simply remarkable!
Caleb and Casey Long, a mother-son duo, came to spend the week with us while their brothers/sons experienced a week at camp! They helped with food prep, serving meals, clean up, connecting with staff, and getting to experience what a week at camp looks like at Whisper Mountain! “You’ve got a good thing going here!” was Casey’s response to seeing us in action for the first time. The Long’s were a quiet, encouraging presence while they served with a smile with us! We thoroughly enjoyed having them with us for the week!
Brad Mitchell & Brinley Holder live locally and are “courting”! They spent the week helping us with set up and running of different program elements and helping to be an encouragement to the staff team! Brad is past summer staff so it was fun to get to have him back for the week. Brinley has been a camper for years and has always wanted to be summer staff so she got to have a little taste of it by joining in! We are grateful for all they were willing to be part of and help out with!
Becky Thiessen has been serving in our kitchen for about 5 years now! We have loved her sweet spirit, hard work ethic, and willingness to put in the long hours for so long! Having her here one more summer before she moves into a new season of life has been something we are grateful for! For any who truly know Becky, they know what a gem she is. We will miss her!
These volunteers have impacted those who came through our gates this month through their hard work, the light of Jesus leaking through their service, and their continual spirit of encouragement to all around them!
