There’s nothing better than putting gas in the truck, loading up with your buddies or family, and following the winding roads into the mountains and through the gates of a weekend just for you!

Forty-five men recently spent the weekend with us walking through the woods and sitting around campfires and shooting bows & arrows. Some of these men listened to their boys running through the rocks and mucking through the pond to find frogs with their headlamps. The relaxing atmosphere of our men’s retreat helps the guys unwind and connect, something we heard was a highlight for them!

When they weren’t chilling in the woods, the men had a few sessions of being challenged and encouraged through the Word by Matt Atack! (You can hear those over on his channel!) Along with the Word was a bit of worship through song led by a special band affectionately calling themselves “One and Done!“ 😂 The band was Shaun and Randy and one of our summer staffers Matthew who joined this weekend — they never usually play together but it worked out and served its purpose and they actually sounded pretty good! Of course the men’s voices filling the room with worship makes you think you’re in heaven singing before the throne. Such a powerful thing to hear.

Tons of door prizes are drawn after each session, worship and teaching are sprinkled throughout, but it’s the 3D Archery Tournament that’s the main event! They have practice times in the morning and then the tourney in the afternoon! We are talking 3D bears and deer and hogs and raccoons and more! They walk the course, giving their best shot and tracking their score! The winners in each of the three categories get trophies at the end! All this along with sipping coffee in the early morning air and slowing their roll for a couple days really makes this weekend one for the books!

Let’s shout out God — who shows up when people call on Him — but who also was so kind in allowing just a small amount of rain in the morning, and then putting His bubble of WM the rest of the weekend (even though the forecast said 90% chance of rain at one point)! So thankful!
